Did you know that your youth group can rent out our facilities for the weekend!
P.A.L.O.P.S. is available to rent on a daily or weekend basis. The rental fees help to pay the maintenance and expenses. Groups must bring their own tents, gear, cooking untensils and drinking water. Wood is provided for the woodstove. There is a fire pit and picnic tables. Canoes on premises may be used only if all water safety rules are followed. All youth must wear life jackets when in or around the pond or the river across the road. Fishing is catch and release.
The crisp air of a fall morning set the stage as Trail Life Troops NY-1613 and NY-1012 gathered for a weekend that will live long in the memories of boys and their mentors. The trees, dressed in fiery hues of orange and gold, stood as silent witnesses to the laughter, camaraderie, and adventure that unfolded.
It began with the familiar crunch of boots on fallen leaves and the hum of anticipation as trucks pulled in. As the sun dipped behind the horizon, boys and dads—and those who stepped in as "dad-likes"—sat around campfires, sharing stories, roasting marshmallows, and building bonds under a canopy of stars.
Mornings brought the smell of pancakes sizzling over open flames, with boys and men flipping batter and sharing smiles. The day was filled with timeless adventures: spirited pugil stick battles, the satisfying thud of axes hitting their marks, and laughter echoing through the woods during friendly games of dodgeball.
Then came the highlight—the legendary Nerfageddon battle, where boys teamed up with their mentors, plotted ambushes, and let their imaginations take flight in a thrilling, action-packed showdown.
This weekend wasn’t just about the games; it was about growing. Boys learned courage, resilience, and the value of teamwork. Dads and mentors showed them the importance of stepping away from the noise of life to invest in meaningful connections.
As gear was packed and trucks rolled out, there was a sense of accomplishment, joy, and the quiet recognition that weekends like these leave an indelible mark. Here’s to the adventures that grow boys into men of character and courage.

After spending hours making sure their cardboard box car was just right, it was time for the big race. Arriving at the cabin on race day and finally setting eyes on the race course sent thrills across the dens. The course was long and the cub scouts needed to pace themselves. The rolling hills, the long curves and the straight away towards the finish line. The property was full of cheering and excitement. Who would take home that trophy!
